As a member of the Implementation Project Management Office, this role has the objective of ensuring that a single large-scale implementation project or multiple, simultaneous medium-scale implementation projects are delivered using a ‘best-practice’ project delivery approach and are delivered within the agreed scope, time, cost and quality.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable in a matrix environment and energized by assisting in the definition and execution of best practices in managing projects. We value the ability to see the big picture with regards to a client’s definition of success, understand their business needs and leverage available resources to achieve a shared vision. Success will be defined by striking a balance between delighting clients and carefully managing project profitability.

Responsibilities
  • Develops, refines, validates and manages project plans as well as the coordination of all internal and external resources required to complete assigned projects to ensure on time and on budget delivery of electronic health record implementation efforts.
  • Works with IT Project Managers to coordinate project schedules and activities, track project spending, and ensure all project tasks are documented appropriately and completed on time.
  • Ensures all project phases are documented appropriately and projects are completed on time and on budget.
  • Analyzes processes, identifies potential risks within the projects, proactively manages issues and resolves problems, and makes recommendations for optimizing resources and ensuring task completion.
  • Monitors and summarizes progress of projects and manages project planning and status meetings.
  • Compiles and provides timely, concise project status, issue, and spending reports for management.
  • Supervises the contribution of matrixed resources in the area of business analysis and project coordination
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with ZH and client team members.
  • Accepts ownership of ongoing client relations and acts as a point of escalation for significant support and enhancement activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in  Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field
  • 10+ years of overall work experience
  • 6+ years of experience managing projects
  • Project Management certification is a plus but not required
  • Healthcare industry experience is a definite plus
  • Highly organized with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Strong sense of urgency with the ability to identify and manage priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to be persuasive and assertive
  • Fluent conversational English is essential
  • Ability to multi-task and work both in a team and independently

The role is expected to provide leadership in a matrix environment to promote best practices in managing interrelated projects and programmes to ensure successful delivery. This role will also ensure project resources have the correct toolsets and processes in place and that all relevant staff are trained and equipped to deliver successfully.
